Our community is heartbroken at the loss of kindergartener, Baptiste Andry, and our hearts and thoughts go out to his family and friends. The Andry family is grateful for the love and support that has been shown to them and has asked that anyone wishing to donate in Baptiste’s make donations to the Save the Children Charity - https://www.savethechildren.org/ or to the Longfellow PTO in support of our Book Fair and Super Summer math program: link here. We are humbled to receive this support in Baptiste's memory and we will continue to honor his life and love of learning with your contributions. The parade will go down Jackson. Turn south on Highland. Turn West on Van Buren. Turn North on Ridgeland. Turn East on Jackson and then turn onto the blacktop.

The school will be commemorating Baptiste's memory with this year's Longfellow ofrenda, which all students can contribute to by decorating hearts placed on the fence in front of the ofrenda. Many of you have also reached out expressing condolences and offering support in various ways. The Fun Run is our big Fall fundraiser. Our goal is to raise $20,000. If each student is able to raise $40, we will make our goal! The class AND grade level with the most funds raised earns a prize! The fundraising period ends with each grade level running around a track at Longfellow Center Park. Families are invited to come cheer on the kids. The money raised helps us to fund PTO programming, Teacher Appreciation, off-set field trip costs, and more.
Here is the fundraising link! In the additional questions section, make sure to note the students name, grade, and teacher. If you have more than one child, please include both of their teachers! https://lpto.betterworld.org/campaigns/2023-longfellow-school-fun-run |
