Chicago Public Library has put together resources in light of recent events in Chicago, specifically in response to ICE and family separation. They want families experiencing worry, stress and fear to have books and websites that can help have these discussions and provide accurate information in English and Spanish.
Books for children have appropriate titles for a wide variety of ages and topics, including general worry about the world, family separation, deportation, borders and immigration and activism. If you’re not sure where to start check out the booklist Let’s Talk: When the World is Scary which has some titles with very general openings to introduce and discuss hard topics of all kinds.
You can find these resources at chipublib.org/SupportingCommunities.
