+What is ALL?
Always Learning at Longfellow (ALL) is a fee-based, after-school enrichment program that offers affordable, educational classes to all Longfellow students. Each class begins 5 minutes after school dismissal (to allow for transitions) and runs for 1 hour.
ALL has 3 sessions (fall, winter, and spring) and Operates M-Th most weeks of the year. Classes this fall include STEAM, Improv/Reading, Sports, Garden Club and more!
+ How does it work?
Parents receive schedule and registration info before the session begins (via fliers, WHAL) and can signup and pay online. Once the registration is closed, ALL volunteers tally up the results and send out confirmation emails to the parents. Once the class begins, children will meet their instructors in the PKP hallway after dismissal, where attendance will be taken before the kids are escorted to camp. Pick-up will be at 4:05 in the front entrance hallway (3:35 on Wednesday). We reserve the right to dismiss from the program (w/o refund) children who are picked up late more than once or who are disruptive in class.
+What else do I need to know?
● If needed, kids may eat a nut-free snack that can be eaten in the hall before class begins.
● Need-based scholarships are available
● No late registrations
● No refunds are given after the first week
● Kids in Clubhouse/Hepzibah will be picked up by staff in those programs

+ Giving Artfully
First piloted at Longfellow in 2014, Giving Artfully enables children to make a difference by helping others through crafting. We believe that the process of creating is a valuable tool to teach kids about the concept of giving. It is our goal to inspire children to continue to give to others,in their own way, after they complete this program. Past projects include creating kindness bags with necessities for those in need, and kindness rocks to spread joyful messages throughout the community.
+ Buddha Belly Kids Yoga
The primary focus of this course is to teach young children to develop self-regulation skills, self-awareness and self-mastery. This course includes themed practices incorporating breath awareness, warm up, asanas (yoga poses), transition to quiet, meditation and relaxation, along with games, creative movement and activities that make yoga engaging, safe, and effective. Yoga mat required. Students may either provide their own or purchase a mat through ALL.
+ Improv/Readers: by Ms. Utter, Longfellow Teacher
Ms. Utter will combine fun improv games and reader’s theater for this class. Reader's theater is a strategy that combines reading practice and performing.
