Have it ALL after school this year!
+What is ALL?
+ How does it work?
Parents receive schedule and registration info a couple of weeks before the session begins (via fliers, WHAL) and can signup and pay online. Once the registration is closed, ALL volunteers tally up the results and send out confirmation emails to the parents. Once the class begins, children will meet their instructors in the PKP hallway after dismissal, where attendance will be taken before the kids are escorted to camp. Pick-up will be at 4:00 in the front entrance hallway (3:30 on Wednesday). We reserve the right to dismiss from the program (w/o refund) children who are picked up late more than once or who are disruptive in class.
+What else do I need to know?
● If needed, kids may eat a nut-free snack that can be eaten in the hall before class begins.
● Need-based scholarships are available
● No late registrations
● No refunds are given after the first week
● Kids in Clubhouse/Hepzibah will be picked up by staff in those programs
+What is ALL?

- Each class begins immediately after school dismissal and runs for 1 hour.
- ALL has 3 sessions (fall, winter, and spring) and operates M-Th most weeks of the year. Classes involve art, movement, STEAM and more!

Monday
- Actors’ Studio (K-2), by The Actors’ Garden: The Actors Garden will teach kids all about theatre fun through theatre games, story theatre and improvisation. Through fun and exciting theatre games, students learn the basics of creative dramatics while being introduced to the wonderful world of theatre. Students get to create a new character each week by engaging in the art of story theatre!
- Library Club (3-5), with Ms. Shea: Join Ms. Shea in the Longfellow Library for an hour of reading with friends, reviewing books, designing bookmarks, creating displays, and learning more about how the library works.
- Multisports Madness (3-5), by Legacy Sports: This popular program includes age-appropriate variations of traditional gym games like relay races, tag, capture the flag, dodgeball, and soccer as well as popular Legacy games like Hand Hockey, Illinois Jones and Battleship.
- Learn to Knit! (3-5), with Dye Hard Yarns: Chastity Dunlop of OP’s own Dye Hard Yarns will teach kids how to knit. Kids will make their own stuffie, accessory, and/or washcloth!
- Kindness Club (K-2), with Ms. Bielecki: Kids will learn the gift of giving by performing random acts of kindness for communities within and outside of Longfellow. Projects will include making cards for retirement communities and creating kindness posters for the school.
- Science of Superpowers (K-5), by Snapology: In Snapology’s Science of Superpowers program, children will learn about the science behind their favorite heroes’ powers. Students will learn about gravity, aerodynamics, forces, motion, and much more as they learn about flight, super villain fights, and superhero vehicles.
- ELFI Studio Sings: Broadway Journey (3-5), By ELFI Studio: Lights, Curtain, Action!! Join ELFI Studio on a BROADWAY JOURNEY as we prepare to hit the stage! Students will sing their hearts out, move those dancing feet, and act their faces off in this fun musical theater revue class. Expect numbers from shows including The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Six, and more! Students will shine on stage in their culminating performance on the last day of class.
- Good Food Experience (K-5), by Schoolhouse Kitchen: Students will learn practical and impressive culinary skills, learning to prepare colorful veggie stir fry, homemade donuts and celebratory holiday recipes. While cooking, our enthusiastic instructors weave lessons about everything from biodiversity to food culture through the conversation. Our kid tested recipes and techniques are designed to inspire a lifetime of fun in the kitchen and are shared with families to continue the learning at home.
- Basketball Fundamentals for Girls (4-5), by Leah Fluecke: A hit at other D97 schools, this class is aimed at encouraging girls/nonbinary kids to have fun while learning the foundations of basketball. Each week, kids will work on skills training (shooting, passing, dribbling, layups), learn the basics of offence and defence and fundamental tactics, and scrimmage or play a basketball-related game.
- Giving Artfully (2-5), by Giving Artfully: Led by BASE Camp favorite Ms. Tania, Giving Artfully enables children to make a difference by helping others through crafting. GA believes that the process of creating is a valuable tool to teach kids about the concept of giving, so that they may give to others, in their own way, after they complete this program. Past projects include creating kindness bags with necessities for those in need, and toys for the cats and dogs at Animal Care League, and to raise money for Beyond Hunger!
- Multisport Madness (K-2), by Legacy Sports: This popular program includes age-appropriate variations of traditional gym games like relay races, tag, capture the flag, dodgeball, and soccer as well as popular Legacy games like Hand Hockey, Illinois Jones and Battleship.
- Open Chess Play (3-5), with Ms. Ortiz: This is an hour for experienced chess players to challenge each other and have fun.
